The title made sense when I finished. I was trying to create a floating/atmospheric painting. A vortex started happening, but I did not want it to appear too strong. A give and take situation.

About Catherine Gruetzke-Blais

Catherine Gruetzke-Blais

Influenced by nature, Catherine Gruetzke-Blais works in a variety of paint media and collage. Her focus is on color, rhythm, and texture while trying to bring her compositions to a feeling of unity. She completed MAT and BFA degrees from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. A fine artist and art educator, Cathy has also worked as a scenic artist painting large scale scenery; and as an illustrator, illustrating board games. Additionally, she enjoys textile design, as well as designing and painting public art projects. In 2012, she was selected to paint and collage her design onto one of the large fiberglass rabbits for the Dedham, MA Public Art Project.
